Donald Shepherd, President of AR, Named
SBA’s 2005 “Exporter of the Year” For
Eastern Pennsylvania
Souderton, PA – 6/3/05 – The president
of AR has been selected by the U.S. Small
Business Administration to receive the 2005 Exporter
of the Year Award for Eastern Pennsylvania. Donald
(Shep) Shepherd received the award at “SBA Day
at Citizens Bank Ballpark” before a Philadelphia
Phillies game on May 19, 2005.
Mr. Shepherd, founder and president of AR,
an electronics manufacturing firm in Souderton, PA,
was selected for this prestigious award based on his
efforts in expanding international markets, which resulted
in increased sales and higher employment levels.
AR is recognized internationally as a leading
manufacturer and distributor of amplifiers, antennas,
transient generators, and electronic test systems.
For more than 35 years, Shepherd and AR have
played a major role in the success of the automotive,
aerospace, telecom, and medical industries. The company’s
client list includes industry giants such as Chrysler,
Ford, Motorola, and General Electric. The U.S. military
also uses AR products for communications,
electronic warfare and homeland security.
From a small engineering firm that began in Shepherd’s
basement, AR has expanded to include 25 international
