AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation Turns Up
The Power On Its Hybrid Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers
New 35ST1G18 and 50ST1G18 TWTs Provide 35 Watts CW
and 50 Watts CW
Souderton, PA - 8/29/06 - AR RF/Microwave
Instrumentation has added two new, higher power amplifiers
to its family of broadband hybrid solid state and traveling
wave tube (TWT) microwave amplifiers.
The Model 35ST1G18 delivers a conservative 35 watts
minimum at the amplifier output connector with low
harmonics. The Model 50ST1G18 provides a conservative
50 watts minimum. Both are designed for the 0.8 - 18
GHz frequency range. Existing hybrid TWT units offer
10 and 20 watts, so the new amplifiers represent a
significant increase in power.
The solid state amplifiers are 100% VSWR tolerant
and the TWTs have VSWR protection. Standard features
for both units include a built-in IEEE-4888 (GPIB)
interface, 0dBm input, gain control, RF output sample
port, plus monitoring of TWT helix current, cathode
voltage, collector voltage, heater current, heater
voltage, baseplate temperature and cabinet temperature.
The hybrids TWT provide readily available RF power
for a variety of applications in Test and Measurement,
(including EMC RF susceptibility testing), Industrial
and University Research and Development, and Service
applications.
